Former Real Madrid skipper and strongman Sergio Ramos insists Kylian Mbappe is very happy at Paris Saint-Germain and hopes that the striker will be at the club for years to come, despite the latest rumours suggesting he wants to leave.<\/p>\n
Mbappe inked a new three-year deal with PSG over the summer, promptly ending the then unending speculation linking him with a switch to the Madridistas. However, contradictory reports have recently emerged that the 23-year-old feels \u2018betrayed\u2019 by PSG as he feels that promises made over his new contract have been broken, and he is desirous of leaving as a result.<\/p>\n
Reportedly unhappy that he has been played as a lone striker, the French World Cup winner’s relationship with Neymar is allegedly poor and he is said to have wanted the Brazilian to leave, while he also insisted on the club buying a new center-back, which also hasn\u2019t happened.<\/p>\n
Ramos disputes the scurrilous claims that this teammate is not happy, though, and has dismissed the reports as mere rumors.<\/p>\n
\u2018The only thing I can tell you is that I am friends with Kylian, he is very happy here,\u2019 the Spaniard told Canal+. \u2018I don\u2019t believe in rumors, we are focused on our work, we don\u2019t read the newspapers.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added when speaking to ESPN: \u2018The news around us even surprises us sometimes. I hope he will be here for many years.\u2019<\/p>\n
Mbappe started PSG\u2019s game against Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday night and scored from the penalty spot in the 1-1 draw.<\/p>\n
Ramos was disappointed with his team\u2019s mindset but they remain top of their group, where he hopes they can remain with two games to play.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe lacked a bit of determination,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s the little details that make the difference. Physically, they\u2019re a very strong team, who worked well tactically and we couldn\u2019t find any. The Champions League is a complicated competition.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe objective is to finish first in the group, there are two games left and we must continue to work to show the best face of the team.\u201d<\/p>\n
PSG football advisor, Luis Campos, also firmly put paid to the rumors that Mbappe wanted to leave, saying earlier on Tuesday: \u201cI am here to deny. Kylian Mbappe did not inform anyone to leave Paris Saint-Germain. We never talked about that.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have a three-year contract for PSG, I work every day for the club to do something extraordinary. We speak with him every day, as with the others. All players chat with us. I spoke about recruitment a month ago, we work every day to have an exceptional season. We are very happy to work here.\u201d<\/p>\n
