Leicester manager Brendan Rogers is a worried man, finally admitting he is under tremendous pressure at Leicester following Saturday’s loss to Tottenham.<\/p>\n
Rogers concedes his job is on amber alert following the calamitous 6-2 defeat to Tottenham. Leicester have now lost their last six Premier League matches and sit rock bottom in the table.<\/p>\n
The Foxes had surged ahead after having taken the lead in north London through a Youri Tielemans penalty. However a regalvanised Spurs side turned the game on its head quickly through decisive goals from Harry Kane and Eric Dier as the visitors’ weakness at set-pieces was crucially exposed again.<\/p>\n
Rodgers’ side then equalised before half-time but fell victims of their own downfall shortly into the second half as Wilfred Ndidi gifted Rodrigo Bentancur the chance to score his first Tottenham goal. Then a repressed, smoldering Son Heung-min came off the bench and scored a blistering 14-minute hat-trick to completely snuff out Leicester’s chances and condemned them to another painful loss.<\/p>\n
Asked if he feels the result piles more pressure on his job, Rodgers told Sky Sports<\/em>: \u201cVery much so. I come in every day and do my work. I totally understand the frustration of supporters. I can\u2019t hide from that. It\u2019s my responsibility.”<\/p>\n However, Rodgers refused to say if he believes he has the backing of the owners but insisted he will always have respect for them.<\/p>\n He added: “Whatever happens I\u2019ll have a huge amount of respect for them [the owners] because they\u2019ve given me great support. I understand the game.<\/p>\n “The scoreline didn\u2019t reflect the game but the bottom line is it\u2019s a heavy defeat. They\u2019ve given me brilliant support. Whatever happens to me at Leicester whether I stay and fight on, I\u2019ll always respect them.”<\/p>\n The Foxes manager felt Leicester deserved more from the game before a valiant Son came off the bench as Leicester forced Hugo Lloris into a number of good saves before Son’s stunning flourish consigned them to the pit.<\/p>\n Rodgers added: \u201cFor 73 minutes it was a good game and we were arguably the better side with the chances we created. We got punished for mistakes.<\/p>\n “I asked the players to play with courage and be brave and they were that. We conceded early in the second half for 3-2 and Hugo Lloris makes a great save for 3-3.<\/p>\n “And then we lose the ball and they break away. At 4-2 it becomes open and that\u2019s about managing the game and the scoreline.<\/p>\n “Our two centre-backs were fantastic but in the last period we were so keen to get something back and that left them isolated. The scoreline looks worse than the game was.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel for the players. They didn\u2019t deserve that. They were brave in the pressing. We played well ourselves, created opportunities. Lloris made some great saves. We have to be better at key defensive moments.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been disappointing. We\u2019ve scored goals, looked creative. It\u2019s mistakes that have been costing us. When you haven\u2019t won games your confidence can take a hit. It\u2019s been a really difficult start.
