14 magical minutes. That was all it took for beleaguered last season\u2019s Golden Boot winner Heung-min Son to score his superb hat-trick in the 6-2 win over Leicester to get back onto the Premier League scoreboard.<\/p>\n
Tottenham forward Son has dramatically ended his Premier League goal drought this season with a sensational 14-minute hat-trick on Saturday after having been benched by Spurs manager Antonio Conte for the first time in 2022\/23 but reacted in spectacular style after replacing the player who had taken his place in the starting XI, Richarlison, just short of the hour mark. Definitely a hint of poetic justice, to say the least, for the South Korea national.<\/p>\n
With Spurs 3-2 up at that point and looking a touch nervy, Son completely changed the tenor of the game with a flourish of his trademark superb running and fabulous finishing.<\/p>\n
The South Korean, co-winner of the Golden Boot for the Premier League’s top scorer with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah last season, registered his first climactic goal of the new campaign with a sizzling right-footed riposte from distance in the 73rd minute.<\/p>\n
Son then followed up his class act by curling in an equally stunning second with his left from the edge of the area capitalising on a Harry Kane pass in the 84th minute.<\/p>\n
The resurrected striker completed his hat-trick two minutes later with his final goal of the match coming as he latched onto a pass from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and beat Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward, but not without first having a nervous wait as the strike was initially ruled out for offside before a VAR check confirmed he had been just onside.<\/p>\n
Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Rodrigo Bentancur were also on target for Spurs, still unbeaten and now in second place behind Manchester City only on goal difference.<\/p>\n
