The self-indulgent midfielder has allowed his contract at Old Trafford to run down, allowing him to leave United on a free transfer at the end of the season, exactly 10 years after he last left the club similarly for free. Former United talisman Rooney, making his second appearance on Monday Night Football, admitted he doesn’t think the move has worked when asked about Pogba’s second spell in Manchester.<\/p>\n

“It’s got to point now where it’s probably better for him to move on,” Rooney told Sky Sports.<\/p>\n
“I think if Paul is honest with himself, he hasn’t had the impact he would have liked since he returned to Manchester United. I watch him play for France and he’s a completely different player.<\/p>\n
“Ability, his vision, control of the game is there every game for France. It just hasn’t quite worked for him at Manchester United. There’s a few players they need to let go.”<\/p>\n
