England\u2019s captain finally broke through his self-imposed restraints and opened his goal scoring account<\/p>\n
Tottenham\u2019s talisman Harry Kane finally broke through all restraints and made his mark at Euro 2020 after scoring England\u2019s second goal in their 2-0 win over Germany at Wembley\u2026 and celebrated in iconic, familiar fashion after that.<\/p>\n
Despite being quiet for most of the game, the\u00a0Three Lions captain picked himself up and later headed home substitute Jack Grealish\u2019s cross with just four minutes remaining, to send the home fans into a frenzy.<\/p>\n
And Kane \u2013 not one known for untoward post-scoring celebrations out of the ordinary apart from the usual fist pump into the air and a little hop \u2013 stunned all watching when he rolled back the years with his \u201cGazza\u201d impersonation honoring the legendary Paul Gascoigne.<\/p>\n
After scoring one of England\u2019s best ever goals at a major tournament against Scotland in Euro 1996, Gascoigne tore away in jubilation, then lay on the ground with his head up, arms wide out to the sides and his mouth agape \u2013 as if getting ready to be examined by the dentist.<\/p>\n
The celebration, known as the \u2018dentist\u2019s chair\u2019 is a reference to a night out in England\u2019s Pre-Euro 96 tour of East Asia, where Gascoigne and several other stars were rumored to have been tied to a chair and regularly topped up with alcohol. It quickly became iconic, and now, 25 years on, Kane\u2019s impersonation of Gascoigne is already on its way to being remembered by England fans responding excitedly on Twitter.<\/p>\n
Despite all the expectation, Gascoigne\u2019s England failed to beat Germany and crashed out of Euro 96 at the semi-final stage after the Three Lions\u2019 current boss, Gareth Southgate, missed a sudden death penalty.<\/p>\n
