Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had more criticism levelled at him from Simon Jordan as the latter believes the United boss will find it infinitely tougher competing for major honors next season following the highly successful arrival of Thomas Tuchel\u00a0in England.<\/p>\n
Solskjaer is yet to win a trophy as United boss, with the Red Devils’ last piece of silverware having arrived over four years ago. Despite finishing a creditable second in the Premier League, United failed to reach the final of both domestic cup competitions, not to mention their Champions League failure.<\/p>\n
Jordan, the former Crystal Palace chairman, has been a common naysayer about Solskjaer and his un-<\/em>suitability to manage the Old Trafford club and believes Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola are on levels much higher than the Norwegian.<\/p>\n And now Jordan says Tuchel, who won the Champions League with Chelsea\u00a0last month, has become the third “elite” manager Solskjaer has to try and topple.<\/p>\n Jordan said on talkSPORT: “I think with the arrival of Tuchel I think it’s made it even more difficult for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to advance beyond where I think he is, which is doing a decent job but not going to win really anything with Manchester United.<\/p>\n “You’ve now got another manager in the mix that he’s got to overcome because it isn’t just about the players, it’s about the management.<\/p>\n “Guardiola and Klopp have been elite managers, and now you’ve got another real one, you’ve got Brendan Rodgers running alongside it.<\/p>\n “I think Manchester United are the ones that are going to have more problems next year because I still think they’ve got a fundamental lacking in their dugout, which is they don’t have a good enough manager to compete with the elite ones.”<\/p>\n Jordan had also previously shared his thoughts about former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who is reportedly in talks to become the next Tottenham manager.<\/p>\n Speaking last week, Jordan said the Italian would be a good fit at United.<\/p>\n \u201cAntonio Conte is difficult but one of the few clubs that can harness his ambitions economically are Man United,\u201d Jordan said.<\/p>\n \u201cYou want to win something in the here and now and to change the direction of the club, someone like Antonio Conte coming to Manchester United would probably be the fix that fixes all problems.<\/p>\n \u201cHe goes to places and wins things and he upsets everybody, he drives the ownership mad but I bet there\u2019s a bunch of Manchester United fans who\u2019d say \u2018we\u2019d welcome that because our owners are a bunch of disingenuous slobs\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you want to win something in the here and now, he\u2019s just come off the back of winning Serie A.
