Chelsea stayed steadily on course for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season with a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.<\/p>\n
The Blues have managed to maintain their unbeaten start to life under head coach Thomas Tuchel with a routine 2-0 win over Everton at Stamford Bridge after an own-goal from defender Ben Godfrey handed Tuchel\u2019s side the lead just past the half hour mark when Kai Havertz’s effort from close range deflected off of the former Norwich City man and into the back of the net. Jorginho then sealed the victory in the second half with a coolly dispatched penalty.<\/p>\n
The victory confirmed the Blues’ spot in the top-four, with a four-point gap on Everton, with this boosting their hopes of securing a place in the UEFA Champions League for next season.<\/p>\n
Whilst the Blues’ two-goal haul meant that they scored more than one in the league for the first time in four matches, they could have more goals for the picking if it hadn\u2019t been for some dismal finishing, not forgetting also Jordan Pickford\u2019s efforts between the sticks.<\/p>\n

And that was the viewpoint Tuchel subscribed to following the full time whistle, as he pointed out the opportunities squandered as the Blues’ only real weakness.<\/p>\n
“We created, especially in the second half, a lot of chances because we could find the spaces to accelerate our game better,” the German commented post-match.<\/p>\n
“It was difficult in the first half but we were always in control, second half we created a lot in the transition game and also with a more self confidence and rhythm in possession.<\/p>\n
“We had a lot of chances, we could have won by more, a well-deserved win and I am super happy with the win.”<\/p>\n
