Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel\u2019s name has been surfacing as a potential Frank Lampard replacement in view of Chelsea’s recent dip in form but the German is now being linked with Barcelona ahead of their presidential elections end of this month.<\/p>\n
The shadow of Thomas Tuchel has been looming eerily at Chelsea but the latest news heralds the German as a potential candidate for the Barcelona job currently held by Ronald Koeman, according to reports.<\/p>\n
Although PSG wielded the axe on the German last month less than six months after he’d led them to the Champions League final against eventual champions Bayern Munich, Tuchel is apparently in demand and has been linked with the Blues hot seat as they struggle for form and consistency in the Premier League race.<\/p>\n
Bild claimed that Roman Abramovich would’ve considered sacking Lampard had Chelsea lost to Aston Villa the last time out as the Blues were forced to settle for a point, making it just one win in five league games for the west Londoners.<\/p>\n
Tuchel is said to be on their radar with the German reported to be keen on working in England but Bild apparently understands that the former Borussia Dortmund boss is the preferred candidate of a Barcelona presidential-hopeful.<\/p>\n
January 24 has been set for the elections for the top job at the Nou Camp, with the candidates pitching different ideas, promising all they can to sway the votes their way as a Barcelona mired with struggles on and off the pitch face the likelihood of another trophyless season.<\/p>\n
Incumbent boss Ronald Koeman signed a two-year deal in the summer taking over from a clueless Quique Setien, and another trophyless showing would obviously mean him getting the boot.<\/p>\n
