Paul Pogba has been linked to move away from Old Trafford this season, but Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants him to stay longer.<\/p>\n
Pogba’s current deal expires in 12 months’ time but United have the option to extend it by another season.<\/p>\n
Ever since the 27-year-old recovered from injury, he has been an excellent partner with Bruno Fernandes in United midfield.<\/p>\n
It will be no surprise United will offer Pogba a new contract, since Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay has signed a long-term deal.<\/p>\n
“Of course we want to keep the best players around the club and hopefully we can do something,” said Solskjaer.<\/p>\n
“We want to build a squad for the future. We have secured one at the start and another who is really experienced. But we also need players in the mid-range group.<\/p>\n
“Since Paul has come back he’s looking better and better. He’s enjoying his football so let’s see where it takes us.”<\/p>\n
Besides Pogba, United fans have been waiting for their club to sign Jadon Sancho.<\/p>\n
However, Dortmund only want \u00a3100m for Sancho which does not fit to Solskjaer transfer policy.<\/p>\n
“The whole world has changed both financially and the perception we’ve got on values.<\/p>\n
“Every time I put the case in front of Ed [Woodward – the club’s executive vice-chairman], I think it’s a sensible one and a realistic one. I’ve always got the club in the front of my mind.<\/p>\n
“I don’t think short term, I always think long term and try to make good deals. I’m always quite careful with money.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
