Real Madrid have finally established a professional women\u2019s team, after 118 years in existence.<\/p>\n
The Spanish giant will takeover CD Tacon, a women’s team founded in 2014 and based in Madrid city, currently competing in Primera Division, the Spanish top-flight league for women’s football.<\/p>\n
The deal has been approved at a meeting of shareholders in September last year, with the cost of 300,000 euros.<\/p>\n
In the agreement, Tacon will be Real Madrid Femenino officially on July 1.<\/p>\n
But since the start of the season, Tacon, coached by David Aznar, have trained and played their home games at Valdebebas, a few metres from the men\u2019s team.<\/p>\n
According to the Spanish press, the club have set their sights on the world greatest talents and some of the first signings could arrive this week.<\/p>\n
The goal is of course to turn Real Madrid Femenino into Women’s Galactico in both Spain and Europe.<\/p>\n
At the moment, they have signed Swedish internationals Kosovare Asllani who was nominated for the 2019 Women\u2019s Ballon d\u2019Or and Sofia Jakobsson who joined last year after finishing third in the Women\u2019s World Cup.<\/p>\n
They will be challenging Barcelona\u2019s women\u2019s team, finalists in the 2018-2019 Women\u2019s Champions League who also beat Tacon twice this season, 6-0 and 9-1.<\/p>\n
Real Madrid target, Ada Hegerberg said she is looking forward to the development of the new team.<\/p>\n
