The Spanish League is set to resume on 11 June after which the following season kicks off on 12 September, says the league’s president Javier Tebas.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Tebas disclosed that a behind closed doors derby between Real Betis and Sevilla could be the fisrt fixture to restart the campaign.<\/p>\n
“We’re prepared and the important thing will be the day we finish the league,” Tebas told Spanish newspaper Marca.<\/p>\n
Tebas also revealed that audiovisual testing is being carried out so fans will be treated to a choice of different viewing experiences with those watching at home being able to choose between two options – the real “silence” from the stadiums or “simulation of the crowds” with noises being played.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez officially gave permission for the country’s top two divisions to resume from 8 June.<\/p>\n
Last week La Liga players started training in groups of no more than 10 in preparation for the resumption of the league.<\/p>\n
Football in Spain was suspended on 12 March because of the coronavirus pandemic and Tebas said the next objective was to progress to full training.<\/p>\n
Champions Barcelona lead La Liga by two points from Real Madrid with 11 matches remaining.<\/p>\n
