One of the best way to finish the season is to ease fixture congestion in Champions League and Europa League following the coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n
UEFA will be hosting a video conference with major stakeholders on Tuesday and Euro 2020 is set to be postponed to allow league seasons to be completed.<\/p>\n
At the moment, UEFA wants the Champions League and Europa League to finish due to obligation on major broadcasting contracts.<\/p>\n
Both tournaments already in Round of 16 stage, with six matchdays remaining including the final.<\/p>\n
That means there are 14 games that need to be completed.<\/p>\n
But if UEFA could cut down the number of game if quarter-finals and semi-finals are played without the second leg thus reducing the need for travelling and lessen the effect on domestic leagues.<\/p>\n
Leagues need to resume immediately due to television contracts but they might need to add a new condition to the current deal.<\/p>\n
Other than that, most countries rely on the payments from UEFA that come out of major international tournaments in order to operate the leagues.<\/p>\n
UEFA also hired an estimated 400 staff working on the Euro 2020 but they could lose the job if the competition is postpone for another year.<\/p>\n
