Chelsea have reportedly made an offer for Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes with a loan to buy option, Sky Sport reports.<\/p>\n
The London club believed to have offered an 18-month loan with an obligation to buy for \u00a355 million.<\/p>\n
The offer also include the playing time, as Gedson needs to play at least 50 per cent of games during his loan spell at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n
It looks like they are hijacking West Ham, whom currently in negotiations with Benfica with a similar offer of an 18-month loan, but The Hammers only willing to pay for \u00a333 million.<\/p>\n
It was a far cry to Gedson’s current release clause, which set at \u00a3102 million but Benfica believed to accept a much lower fee for a player who is out of favour and is reported to have fallen out with head coach Bruno Lage.<\/p>\n
It was also reported that the midfielder is believed to favor a move to the Premier League and his preferred destination is understood to be London for family reasons.<\/p>\n
Gedson made his debut with Benfica in 2018 and has since been an integral part to the Portuguese champion side.<\/p>\n
He played 13 times in all competition this season, but only started twice in the league and came off the bench seven times.<\/p>\n
