Having just joining Barcelona in the summer, Frenkie de Jong believes his views on LaLiga has changed over the past six months.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old has been an integral part to Ernesto Valverde’s side who is leading the league with two points, ahead of Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
But LaLiga title race this season has only been Barca and Real, while Atletico is falling behind.<\/p>\n
“I used to think that LaLiga was the strongest football league in the world,”\u00a0De Jong\u00a0told the Mirror.<\/p>\n
“You could see their dominance in European Cup competitions.<\/p>\n
“The Spanish clubs always progressed a long way and often grabbed the main trophies, the Champions League and the Europa League.<\/p>\n
“But the Premier League has gained more power over the last few years.<\/p>\n
“When it comes to pure skills, LaLiga is better but, because of the sheer intensity, the English competition is at a slightly higher level.”<\/p>\n
De Jong claims might suggests that he prefers to play in a more competitive league.<\/p>\n
Premier League, once dominated by four clubs, now it’s as if there were seven clubs competing for the title race, with Leicester winning the league four years ago.<\/p>\n
However, Man United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur experiencing a transition, a change of managerial position that made them less competitive in recent years.<\/p>\n
This season, it’s all about a three horse race between Liverpool, Leicester and Man City.<\/p>\n
But to say competitive, Liverpool are currently in 13-point lead over Leicester.<\/p>\n
It looks as though La Liga is more competitive at the moment.<\/p>\n
