Why Jadon Sancho’s transfer to Man Utd has not yet been officially announced

Manchester United had announced back on July 1 that they had reached an agreement with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for the £73million sale of England international Jadon Sancho but the Red Devils are still yet to officially confirm the signing of the mercurial winger.

The club posted on its official website:

“Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.

“The signing is subject to contractual terms and a medical, which will be completed after Jadon’s involvement in the UEFA European Championship.”

The Euros have now been concluded and Sancho has also accordingly completed his United medical but the deal has still yet to be officially announced, which is understandably causing some anxiety among United supporters.

Red Devils’ boss Solskjaer addressed the issue in an interview with the press on Sunday, admitting that minor details were holding up the transfer but gave the assurance that United are doing what they can to iron out these niggardly technicalities.

The Red Devils boss said: “From what I understand only paperwork, small little details, hopefully, we can announce something.

“Let’s get all the paperwork done and get him over the line and then I can say what I truly feel about the player.”
