The rumor became reality, as Arsenal are ready to welcome Lille and Cote d’Ivoire international forward Nicolas Pepe.
Last season, in addition to his speed and skills that were recognized everywhere around the world, Pepe showed incredible output in front of goal.
He found the net 33 times in the last campaign, and only three players in Europe’s major leagues surpassed him: Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Fabio Quagliarella.
This time, we will introduce three possible usages of Pepe in Arsenal’s system.
Best option: right wing on 4-3-3
Pepe can cover any offensive position. For example, Marcelo Bielsa even used him as a top striker during his brief spell there.
However, as Pepe showed last season, the right side is probably the best place to let him play.
On the right, he can show his most powerful weapon; cutting in onto his stronger foot and shooting.
If he plays in this position we can expect Alexandre Lacazette on the opposite side and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the middle.
Lacazette is good in the center too so we can also see him switching positions with Aubameyang.
