INTRO TO BARCELONA<\/strong><\/p>\n Barcelona is known worldwide as one of the most beautiful and entertaining cities in Europe. It has everything: breathtaking architecture, traditional culture, delicious food, bubbling nightlife, and, of course football.<\/p>\n As a matter of fact, many find it difficult to separate the idea of the city of Barcelona from FC Barcelona, known to fans worldwide as \u201cBar\u00e7a\u201d. Founded in 1899, the club is directly connected with the history of the city, and its blaugrana (blue and maroon) colors decorate countless corners of the Barcelona.<\/p>\n If you love Europe and football, there is probably no better destination.<\/p>\n Navigating to Central Barcelona<\/strong><\/p>\n There are several ways to reach the center of Barcelona from the airport.<\/p>\n *Prices current as of May 2018<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n SHOPPING FOR BARCA<\/strong><\/p>\n You will see countless small shops selling Barcelona merchandise as you stroll down las Ramblas, the main artery of Barcelona. It\u2019s not hard to find gear for Barcelona\u2019s other club, Espa\u00f1ol\u2019s, and you can even find Real Madrid uniforms and scarves.<\/p>\n The club\u2019s biggest shop, the Megastore, is located in the vicinity of the Camp Nou. But there are many other Official Stores within the city at locations such as the airport and Sants Station.\u2028\u2028Besides the obligatory uniforms and scarves, popular items amongst tourists are mugs, keychains, and fridge magnets in every shape and size. For an original souvenir, fans might consider dolls depicting Bar\u00e7a players.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Barca Megastore\u2028<\/strong><\/p>\n The Megastore is the Mecca of every Bar\u00e7a fan. Its three floors offer every sort of Barcelona merchandise available, from uniforms and casual wear to a fully-stocked Nike FC shop.<\/p>\n Retro uniforms, which cost around \u20ac60 and are available in several models, are a particularly popular item.<\/p>\n Be aware that the store is incredible popular on match days, with queues often forming at both the entrance and the register.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n VISITING CAMP NOU<\/strong><\/p>\n Camp Nou is universally considered one of the best stadiums in the world. Despite its majestic size, it offers excellent views due to the short distance between the stands to the pitch. Fans often contributing to the pre-match atmosphere with incredible card displays, so be sure not to arrive just in time for kickoff.<\/p>\n As most of the stadium is exposed to the elements, fans attending on rainy days should come equipped with a plastic poncho. However, for marquee events such as El Clasico or Champions League fixtures, travelers should contact ticket agencies or travel agents well ahead of time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n THE BARCA MUSEUM<\/strong><\/p>\n Located within Camp Nou, the Barca Museum offers fans a chance to get up close and personal with the club\u2019s illustrious history. The museum and stadium tour are incredibly popular and availability may be limited, so be sure to book in advance!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n EATING IN BARCELONA<\/strong><\/p>\n Barcelona is considered by many to be a culinary capital of Europe, boasting the most bars and restaurants per capita. Hundreds of eateries with budgets for every traveler are available, but tourists must keep some unique aspects of Spanish dining culture in mind.<\/p>\n Dining out in Barcelona (and Spain as a whole) can be a challenge for those not used to the country\u2019s relaxed mealtimes: lunch takes place anywhere from 1-4pm, while most locals enjoy dinner around 9 or 10pm. Lunch is the biggest meal of the day for many, while dinner consists of tapas: small selections of appetizers which vary from restaurant to restaurant and often consists of local favorites and delicacies.<\/p>\n Recommended Restaurants<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u2019d recommend the following restaurants whether you\u2019re looking to get a taste of authentic Spanish cuisine or enjoy Spanish interpretations of some of Asia\u2019s top cuisine:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n SIDE TRIP TO GIRONA<\/strong><\/p>\n In contrast to the grandeur of FC Barcelona and the Camp Nou, a visit to the nearby town of Girona and its small stadium will let you experience a completely different atmosphere without leaving Catalunya. If Girona FC have an afternoon match, this can even be accomplished as day trip.<\/p>\n The club accomplished their first promotion to LaLiga\u2019s Primera Division in 2017, and their exciting top flight debut has generated great enthusiasm amongst local fans. \u2028\u2028The Estadi Montilivi is easily reached in a 30-minute walk across town from the station, but take care to purchase tickets early as many games sell out.<\/p>\n Fans with an interest in Romanesque architecture should take some time to enjoy the Girona Cathedral or the nearby Sant Pere de Galligants, both of which are located in the centre of the city.<\/p>\n The Alta Velocidad<\/strong><\/p>\n Spain\u2019s high-speed trains are fast, reliable and cheap. A ticket to Girona costs a mere \u20ac17, including seat reservations, and the journey lasts about 40 minutes.
