The announcement was made during the FA Thailand Awards 2026<\/strong> in Bangkok, attended by Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Phancharoenworakul<\/strong>, National Olympic Committee of Thailand President Pimol Srivikorn<\/strong>, and FAT President Nualphan Lamsam<\/strong>, who presided over the ceremony celebrating the country’s top footballing achievements.<\/p>\n Among the major award winners, Theerathon Bunmathan<\/strong> of Buriram United was named Men’s Player of the Year<\/strong>, while Saowalak Peng-ngam<\/strong> of Taichung Blue Whale received the Women’s Player of the Year<\/strong> honour. Other recipients included Kaka Mendes<\/strong> (Foreign Player of the Year), Sasom Pobprasert<\/strong> (Coach of the Year), Suphanan Bureerat<\/strong> (Most Valuable Player), Yotsakon Burapha<\/strong> (Young Player of the Year), Chang Arena<\/strong> (Best Stadium), Torpong Somsing<\/strong> (Referee of the Year), and former Thailand national team manager Wanasthana Sajakul<\/strong> (formerly Thawatchai Sajakul), who received the President’s Award for his contribution to Thai football.<\/p>\n FAT also unveiled Thailand’s 25-man squad<\/strong> for the ASEAN Championship (Hyundai Cup)<\/strong>, scheduled from 24 July to 26 August 2026<\/strong>. Head coach Anthony Hudson<\/strong> acknowledged the difficulties of assembling a squad outside the FIFA international calendar, explaining that the original plan to field an Under-23 side had to be adjusted due to clubs’ reluctance to release players during the pre-season period.
