The release of the revised fixtures for December 2025, featuring a more structured multi-venue format and enhanced organisational standards, signals a renewed vision for the future of football in the region.<\/p>\n<p>This season\u2019s league, organised by the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA), stretches from 5 December to 21 December 2025, with 30 league-stage matches followed by semi-finals and the grand final. The participation of clubs such as SAI Guwahati, Oil India FC, ASEB Sports Club, Assam Police, United Chirang Duar FC, Sunrise AC, Pride East Mavericks, North East United FC (reserves), and others showcases the league&#8217;s increasing competitiveness and depth of talent.<\/p>\n<p>Professionalisation on the Rise<\/p>\n<p>A key focus area for the future is the league\u2019s gradual move toward professionalisation. This includes:<\/p>\n<p>Streamlined scheduling<\/p>\n<p>Matchday operations meet national-level standards<\/p>\n<p>Involvement of departmental and professional clubs<\/p>\n<p>Improved visibility of local players<\/p>\n<p>Officials say the aim is to align GPFL\u2019s framework with national calendars, allowing players smoother transitions into the I-League, ISL development systems, and national tournaments<\/p>\n<p>Talent Development as the Core Mission<\/p>\n<p>With academies such as SAI and departmental clubs offering structured youth pathways, GPFL is expected to become a prominent talent pipeline for Assam.
