{"id":1581,"date":"2020-05-27T15:57:32","date_gmt":"2020-05-27T10:27:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/india\/?p=1581"},"modified":"2020-05-27T15:57:32","modified_gmt":"2020-05-27T10:27:32","slug":"fifa-u17-womens-world-cup-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/india\/2020\/05\/27\/fifa-u17-womens-world-cup-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA U-17 Women&#8217;s World Cup 2020: Preparation of venues on track for India 2020 despite COVID-19 setback"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"story-headline\" class=\"col-xs-12\">\n<p>All India Football Federation General Secretary Mr Kushal Das has stated that preparations are on track at the five venues which are slated to host the FIFA U-17 Women\u2019s World Cup India 2020.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-xs-12\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Speaking in a webinar arranged by Sports Industry Awards (SPIA) Asia entitled \u2018Sports Industry in India \u2013 today, Mr Das said: \u201cThese are unforeseen circumstances, and there have been some setbacks. But three of the five venues had already hosted the U-17 FIFA World Cup in 2017 and they do not require many changes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong the other two venues \u2013 at Bhubaneswar and Ahmedabad &#8211; most of the work is on schedule. In Odisha, we have been working closely with the State Government, and also in Ahmedabad. We are quite hopeful that the venues will be ready in time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Footballing activities in India are suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.the-afc.com\/img\/image\/upload\/t_l7\/v1590574126\/lfp7te8scpqpm7tvuijb.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Das added that the preparatory activities for the India U-17 team would start soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now our coach (Thomas Dennerby, pictured above) is back in Sweden, while the players are back at their respective residences. There are some travel restrictions but we are working on how and when we can safely restart the camp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe coach is quite hopeful because this is a situation that every team is facing.
