After entering the Top 10 yesterday, the Football Tribe Awards\u00a0<\/strong>are back with our top three SEA Players of 2017!<\/p>\n

These rankings were made with extensive input from Football Tribe’s SEA editions in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand.<\/p>\n

Fresh from helping Levante earn promotion into La Liga, Natxo Insa joined JDT and earned his Malaysian citizenship. Even in just half a year, it was clear that he was by far the best player in the Malaysian Super League. While he didn’t score as often as other players, Insa’s goals were all belters and he was pivotal in helping his side win the Malaysia Cup as well. His vision is phenomenal and he effectively built a strong partnership with another JDT talisman, Safiq Rahim. <\/span><\/p>\n

Teraasil’s name is always regarded highly in Southeast Asia. In 2017 he was the Thai League T1’s top-scoring Thai player with 14 goals and also managed 13 assists. The 29-year-old also excelled in the AFC Champions League, scoring five goals in seven appearances and bringing Muangthong to their first ever Round of 16. He’ll face his former teammate Chanathip Songkrasin in the J1 League next year when he joins Sanfrecce Hiroshima on a one-year loan.<\/span><\/p>\n

At just 24 years old, Chanathip has become the new model for what Southeast Asian players can aspire to be. After a successful half-season with Muangthong United in which they reached the ACL’s Round of 16, Chanathip continued to shine in his J1 League debut with Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo. Despite only came to J1 at half season, Chanathip managed to establish himself as a starter for Consadole until the end of the season and help them to get a solid midtable finish after experienced shaky start.<\/span><\/p>\n
