Following yesterday’s announcement of the 20th through 11th best players in Southeast Asia, the Football Tribe Awards\u00a0<\/strong>are back with #10 through #4!<\/p>\n

These rankings were made with extensive input from Football Tribe’s SEA editions in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand.<\/p>\n

Rezaldi was Liga 1’s breakthrough player of the 2017 season. Even at the age of just 22 he has undeniably become the best left-back in Indonesia. Not only solid in defense, Rezaldi is also potent in attack with his deadly crossing and penetration. His stats show why Indonesian fans should look forward to his development in years ahead.<\/span><\/p>\n

Age is just a number and Nguyen Anh Duc proves it. At 32 years old, the striker is still in his sharpest form and became the V. League’s top scorer with 17 goals. He’s also the first Vietnamese striker to score 17 goals in the league in last 15 years, helping Binh Duong remain in the top flight despite a disappointing campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pansa Hemviboon had a breakthrough year in 2017, going from unknown defender to starter at Buriram United. He contributed a lot in Buriram’s backline, which topped the Thai League T1 with just 22 goals conceded this season. In addition to helping Buriram win the league, Pansa also became a regular in Thailand’s national team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Statistically, Safiq Rahim was Malaysia’ best local player in 2017. If not for Insa’s influence in the second half of the season, he arguably would have been the league’s MVP. He continued to play an integral role for JDT and kept things working in midfield before Insa’s June arrival. Despite being 30 years old, Safiq was a huge part of the side that won its 4th straight Malaysian Super League crown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has played an important part in Cardiff City’s Championship campaign, conceding just 16 goals in 21 matches including nine clean sheets. The Bluebirds will look likely to enter the new year in the top three, and it might not be long before the 27-year-old is minding the posts in the Premier League.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinh Thanh Trung is the main attacking threat of Quang Nam FC. He scored 10 goals and created 10 assists in this season’s V.League, but his most amazing stat was perhaps that he played in all 2340 minutes of the campaign. His stellar form helped Quang Nam win the league for the first time in club history.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s fair to say that Evan Dimas was the greatest Indonesian player of\u00a0 2017. He not only helped bring a title to Bhayangkara United, but excelled with the national team and carried Indonesia to the SEA Games semi-finals. Dimas is constantly a calm and collected presence on the pitch, and with an 88 percent pass completion rate and 71 percent successful dribbling rate the midfielder has plenty to boast about when it comes to statistics.<\/span><\/p>\n
