{"id":9451,"date":"2017-12-09T01:59:12","date_gmt":"2017-12-08T16:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/?p=9451"},"modified":"2017-12-09T01:59:12","modified_gmt":"2017-12-08T16:59:12","slug":"malaysia-fa-appoints-tan-cheng-hoe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/2017\/12\/09\/malaysia-fa-appoints-tan-cheng-hoe\/","title":{"rendered":"Malaysia FA appoint Tan Cheng Hoe as new national team head coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tan Cheng Hoe has replaced <a href=\"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/2017\/12\/07\/malaysia-head-coach-nelo-vingada-resigns\/\">Nelo Vingada<\/a>, who stepped down on Wednesday following a string of poor results, as head coach of the Malaysia national team.<\/p>\n<p>Cheng Hoe is a former Kedah coach and was appointed as an assistant to Vingada in this May.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FAMalaysiaOfficial\/posts\/1504004449696314\">In a brief statement<\/a>, Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) general secretary Dato\u2019 Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin said: &#8220;We would like to congratulate Tan Cheng Hoe on being appointed as new\u00a0Harimau Malaya\u00a0head coach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After FAM general secretary Datuk Hamidin Amin made the announcement yesterday evening, Cheng Hoe said he accepted the challenge lift the national team from the struggled period.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was surprised to be offered the job and I accept it after discussing it with Tunku President (Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim),&#8221; said Cheng Hoe, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nst.com.my\/sports\/football\/2017\/12\/312057\/cheng-hoe-replaces-much-criticised-vingada-national-coach\">as quoted by The New Straits Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a heavy responsibility and I would like to thank Tunku President for his faith in me.
