Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has accused the Pahang Football Association (PFA) of being\u00a0disrespectful to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) following the former\u2019s decision to reject an offer to play in the 2018 AFC Cup.<\/p>\n
FAM Technical Director Peter De Roo said on the national body\u2019s Facebook page<\/a> yesterday: \u201cPahang\u2019s actions in withdrawing themselves from the AFC competition illustrate their lack of respect towards the AFC.<\/p>\n \u201cWe want football to progress further in the international arena as it would enable us to get maximum exposure at the highest level.<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately, however, it would be a difficult task to achieve if the teams do not take international competitions seriously.<\/p>\n \u201cThey are only interested in the domestic competitions and one such example is Pahang.
