Centre-back Fadhli Shas will serve as the captain of Malaysia in tonight’s Asian Cup qualifying Group B match against North Korea.<\/p>\n

Fadhli replaces Safiq Rahim, who received a one-match ban for his red card against Hong Kong on 10 October. Safiq will return to play in the second match of Malaysia’s crucial qualifier against North Korea next week.<\/p>\n

“Fadhli is my choice and I believe he will do a great job,” said coach Nelo Vingada on Friday, as quoted by the New Straits Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fadhli is making his return to the national team after a year. The Johor Darul Ta’zim defender has made 32 appearances for The Harimau.<\/p>\n
