Bhayangkara FC striker Ilija Spasojevic has been granted Indonesian citizenship as it was announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old, who first moved to Indonesia in 2011, gave up his Montenegro nationality and was eligible for naturalisation after marrying a local woman.<\/p>\n
Spasojevic is now free to play for Indonesia national team as he previously declared his love to don the Team Garuda’s jersey.<\/p>\n
“I hope one day I can wear the Merah Putih jersey with the pride of Garuda national team. I hope all of the people and football lovers (in Indonesia) will support me,” he wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n
