Guangzhou Evergrande won the Chinese Super League (CSL) for the seventh time in a row as Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side thrashed Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng 5-1 in Sunday match.<\/p>\n
With two league games remaining, this victory gave Evergrande a nine-point lead over second-placed Shanghai SIPG, who went down 2-1 to Guangzhou R&F on the same day.<\/p>\n
It has been Scolari’s third successive title since replacing Fabio Cannavaro in 2015, although the former World Cup winner is expected to leave the club when his contract expires in November.<\/p>\n
Evergrande made a rapid start to the game thanks to two goals from Gao Lin and Alan Carvalho inside 17 minutes.<\/p>\n
The visitors pulled a goal back through the first half but Ricardo Goulart widened the deficit with a header in the 52nd minute.<\/p>\n
