Thai League defending champions Muangthong United have defeated joint-winner of the 2016 FA Cup, Sukhothai in the first edition of the Thailand Champions Cup (formerly known as Kor Royal Cup).<\/p>\n
This is Thailand’s first match since the end of the last season following the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Muangthong United qualified for the match as last year’s Thai League champions, while Sukhothai qualified as FA Cup champions.<\/p>\n
