Shanghai SIPG reached their first AFC Champions League semi-finals despite suffering the 5-1 defeat against Guangzhou Evergrande.<\/p>\n
Both sides ended their two-leg quarterfinals 5-5 on aggregate, however, SIPG secured the semi-final slot with a 5-4 penalty shootout win over the two-time champions as the game went into extra-time and penalties.<\/p>\n
