From Japan, South Korea and North Korea and China, all the way to Iran, Jordan, and Uzbekistan, Asian players have moved to Europe to advance their football career at football hubs of Europe.<\/p>\n<p>During the Summer transfer, fifteen Asian players were either loaned out or were demoted to second-tier European leagues, which are not tracked in our tracking system.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, seven Asian players moved to top European leagues during the Summer transfer period. Footballers also moved to European leagues such as Poland, Greece, and Austria, but these are not considered the elite European leagues.<\/p>\n<p>At Football Tribe Asia, we only focused on performances of 47 Asian players who currently play in top European leagues of England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Russia and Portugal as per UEFA Coefficient ranking of top leagues.<\/p>\n<p>The criteria are to select players who play in the top division of leagues above.<\/p>\n<p>Tracking all 47 players, in August &#8211; the first month of the football season &#8211; here are top five Asian players in elite football leagues based on performance and ratings. Players\u2019 ranking includes considerations such as the number of goals scored, assists, their Pass Accuracy Ratio (percent) and their ratings*.<\/p>\n<p>Sorted by the\u00a0highest Rating.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">*Source of Ratings: whoscored.com<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5989\" src=\"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2017\/08\/55d35d60b3f78_okazaki.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Shinji Okazaki (Leicester City\/Japan)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 31-year-old Japanese striker has impressed at the start of the season for Leicester City as he scored two goals in three starts, including a goal in the opening match against Arsenal. An attacking threat for Craig Shakespeare&#8217;s side, Okazaki maintain a high xGoal of 1.88, as well as a shoot per game ratio of 1.7. The former Mainz 05 striker earned a rating of 6.97 in the month of August.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2433\" src=\"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2017\/03\/Yoshida-Japan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"652\" height=\"366\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Maya Yoshida (Southampton FC\/Japan)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 29-year old Japanese defender has become a household name in Southampton. Back in action in August, he featured in three games for the British side. In two occasions, he helped his team keep a clean sheet against opponents. Yoshida\u2019s August rating stood at 6.99 out of 10, while his passing accuracy stood at an impressive rate of 80%.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-mh-magazine-content wp-image-6830\" src=\"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2017\/09\/brad-678x381.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Brad Jones (Feyenoord\/Australia)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The former Liverpool goalkeeper is currently plying his trade at Eredivisie side Feyenoord. Featuring in three games for the defending champions, he managed to keep clean sheets in two games in a row. His August rating came up to be 7.29 out of 10, with passing accuracy of 68.9%.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-mh-magazine-content wp-image-3326\" src=\"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2017\/05\/Alireza-Jahanbakhsh-678x381.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Alireza Jahanbakhsh (AZ Alkmaar\/Iran)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The 24-year old Iranian attacking midfielder started off a new season with three appearances for Dutch league side AZ Alkmaar. In particular, his effective performance against Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, with 4 shots and one that hit woodwork earned him a stellar rating. Overall, in August his rating stood at 7.75 out of 10, with a passing accuracy of 73%.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6912\" src=\"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2017\/09\/20170820001314836749-original.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"704\" height=\"396\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Mathew Leckie (Hertha Berlin\/Australia)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 26-year old Aussie started off his 2017-2018 season with a bang. Featuring in two games in August, he scored a brace for Hertha Berlin against Stuttgart and earned \u201cMan of the Match\u201d honor, while bagging one of the highest ratings from pundits.<\/p>\n<p>In the following match, he also featured in a full match against Borussia Dortmund and displayed a solid performance on the pitch.
