According to Daily Mail, Japan’s Tokyo Verdy <\/a>have given up their bid to sign Italian superstar Francesco Totti after his wife turned her nose up at a move to the Far East.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately he was unable to get his family\u2019s blessing,\u201d Verdy president Hideaki Hanyu told Japan\u2019s Nikkan Sports<\/a> newspaper, claiming Totti\u2019s celebrity wife Ilary Blasi had been a major factor of this unsuccessful bid.<\/p>\n

“I really wanted to see Totti pull on a Verdy uniform. I was ready to fly to Italy tomorrow. I’m unhappy with the agent, but this has been a valuable learning experience.”<\/p>\n
