For a\u00a0second year, we follow every Asian football player in the Europe.<\/p>\n

From Japan, South Korea and North Korea and China all the way to Iran, Jordan, and Uzbekistan, Asian players have moved to the European continent to advance their football career. Out of these players, many play in second-division leagues of Europe, or smaller European leagues such as Poland, Greece, and Austria which are not considered among the elite.<\/p>\n

At Football Tribe Asia, we rank the best ones who currently play in top-flight leagues in England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Russia and Portugal as per UEFA Coefficient ranking.<\/p>\n

The followings are top 5 Asian players in the elite football leagues of Europe based on performance and ratings in April 2017.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Mike Havenaar (ADO Den Haag):<\/strong>\u00a0The 29-year old Japanese featured in 5 games in April for ADO Den Haag and netted 4 incredible goals. <\/span><\/p>\n

Havenaar found the back of the net in four consecutive games against Roda, Willem II, FC Groningen and PSV Eindhoven, which earned him the rating\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>7.34 out of 10 for the month of April.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0<\/strong>Hiroki Sakai (Marseille):<\/b>\u00a0Sakai played 5 matches in April and provided an assist for his team in the 4-0 thrashing against Saint-Etienne. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sakai made the top 5 list once more by achieving the rating of 7.37. The right-back won an impressive amount of 11 aerial challenges and 7 tackles in his 4 matches.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Sakai part of their rearguard, Marseille kept three clean sheets in their four Ligue 1 matches in April, conceding just one single goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Shinji Kagawa (Borussia Dortmund): <\/b>Featuring in 6 games for the Bundesliga side, Kagawa netted 2 goals and provided 3 assists in April.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old also earned “Man of the Match” award in his match against Hamburger SV on 4 April, with his overall rating being 7.48 out of 10<\/p>\n

Kagawa’s best performances in April were against Hamburger SV in Bundesliga and against AS Monaco in the Champions League quarter-final, where he scored and provided an assist in both matches.<\/p>\n

2. Alireza Jahanbakhsh (AZ Alkmaar): <\/b>The Iranian attacking midfielder had an April to remember with AZ Alkmaar. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jahanbakhsh featured in 5 games, scoring 2 goals and providing one assist. His rating stands at 7.58 out of 10.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

1. Son Heung-Min (Tottenham): <\/b><\/p>\n

Son shined in April as he was an important part of Tottenham as the London club cruises towards the title contention and Champions League qualification. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Son netted five goals in four consecutive matches against Burnley, Swansea, Watford and Bournemouth. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In total, he scored five goals and provided one assist in his 7 appearances, and earned the “Man of the Match” award in the game against Watford. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

At 7.62 out of 10, he is undoubtedly the best Asian player in Europe for the month of April.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
