Global FC won Group F of the 2017 AFC Cup after their 3-1 rout over\u00a0Boeung Ket at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n
Paul Mulders and Hikaru Minegishi helped the hosts to a two-goal lead at the break to put them on course to qualify for the zonal semi-final stage of the competition.<\/p>\n
Boeung Ket pulled one back just before the hour mark through Seth Rosib, but it wasn’t enough for the already eliminated visitors.<\/p>\n
In the other Group F encounter,\u00a0Johor Darul Ta’zim defeated Magwe 3-1 to secure their place in the AFC Cup knockout stage as the best second-placed team of the ASEAN zone.<\/p>\n
Magwe surprised the home fans when they took the lead mere minutes into the match, but a hat-trick from Gabriel Guerra did the trick for JDT.<\/p>\n
JDT’s victory ended Hanoi FC’s hope of qualifying for the next round, despite the Vietnamese’s comprehensive 4-1 thumping over Felda United.<\/p>\n
Hanoi spent\u00a0the first period camped in the Felda and finally grab the half-time lead with a long-range stunner from Pham Duc Huy.<\/p>\n
The Vietnamese side added to their tally with a brace Nguyen Van Quyet and another from Do Hung Dung before Cellerino scores a late penalty for Felda.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Ceres-Negros secured the top spot in Group G after clinching a 4-2 victory against Tampines Rovers to knock out the Singaporean side.<\/p>\n
Ceres made a great start to the match with a brace from Bienvenido Mara\u00f1on. Rovers pulled a goal back before being reduced to 10 men, and Ceres used the advantage in number to restore their gap before the break.<\/p>\n
