Thai League 1 giants BG Pathum United have announced the resignation of club president Pavin Bhirombhakdi, who stepped down from his position with immediate effect due to personal and health-related reasons.

Pavin’s departure marks the end of a transformative era for the club. Since assuming leadership during the Bangkok Glass days, he has been the driving force behind the Glass Rabbits’ rise from a competitive domestic side into one of Thailand’s most respected and professionally run football clubs.

Under Pavin’s stewardship, BGPU not only achieved promotion back to Thai League 1 in 2020 but stunned the nation by lifting the league title in their first season back in the top flight (2020/21). The club’s resurgence coincided with ambitious moves in the transfer market, bringing in marquee players like Chanathip Songkrasin, Teerasil Dangda, and Victor Cardozo — signings that raised both the team’s quality and its profile.

On the continental stage, BGPU became a regular presence in the AFC Champions League, reaching the knockout stages and going toe-to-toe with Asia’s biggest clubs. Their performances helped enhance the reputation of Thai football across the region and made the Glass Rabbits a destination club for both domestic and international talent.

In a heartfelt statement, the club expressed their gratitude: “BG Pathum United would like to thank Mr. Pavin Bhirombhakdi for his dedication, commitment, and vision over the years. His contributions have been vital in elevating the club’s structure, professionalism, and success both on and off the pitch. We wish him continued good health.”

Pavin’s era was also marked by a strong focus on infrastructure, youth development, and professional standards, laying a foundation that future club leadership will inherit.

As BGPU prepare to announce their next steps for the club’s management structure, fans are left to reflect on the legacy of a president who helped turn their beloved Rabbits into a powerhouse — one whose influence will likely be felt for years to come.
