{"id":2839,"date":"2017-04-13T16:41:14","date_gmt":"2017-04-13T07:41:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/?p=2839"},"modified":"2017-04-15T15:30:51","modified_gmt":"2017-04-15T06:30:51","slug":"frank-rijkaard-joins-race-thai-national-team-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/2017\/04\/13\/frank-rijkaard-joins-race-thai-national-team-job\/","title":{"rendered":"Frank Rijkaard joins race for Thai national team job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Holland international Frank Rijkaard has become the latest coach to express interest in the hot seat\u00a0of the Thailand national team.<\/p>\n<p>Rijkaard reportedly has submitted his profile to the Football Association of Thailand and joined the growing list of those interested in the position.<\/p>\n<p>FAT secretary-general\u00a0Pisan Judilok confirmed on Wednesday: &#8220;We have received the profile of Frank Rijkaard, who has applied for the job of Thailand national team coach after Kiatisuk Senamuang resigned as the head coach.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pisan added: &#8220;FAT president Somyot Poompunmuang and its technical chairman Witthaya Laohakul are busy making up their minds and will announce the decision later.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One of the best defensive midfielders in footballing history, Rijkaard played for Ajax, Real Zaragoza, and Milan and represented the Netherlands national team side 73 times, scoring 10 goals.<\/p>\n<p>In his managerial career, he has been in charge of the Netherlands national team, Sparta Rotterdam, Barcelona,\u00a0and Galatasaray. He has also coached Asian powerhouse Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>Rijkaard famously won the Champions League and La Liga in the 2005\/06 season with Barcelona.
