Former Holland international Frank Rijkaard has become the latest coach to express interest in the hot seat\u00a0of the Thailand national team.<\/p>\n
Rijkaard reportedly has submitted his profile to the Football Association of Thailand and joined the growing list of those interested in the position.<\/p>\n
FAT secretary-general\u00a0Pisan Judilok confirmed on Wednesday: “We have received the profile of Frank Rijkaard, who has applied for the job of Thailand national team coach after Kiatisuk Senamuang resigned as the head coach.”<\/p>\n
Pisan added: “FAT president Somyot Poompunmuang and its technical chairman Witthaya Laohakul are busy making up their minds and will announce the decision later.”<\/p>\n
One of the best defensive midfielders in footballing history, Rijkaard played for Ajax, Real Zaragoza, and Milan and represented the Netherlands national team side 73 times, scoring 10 goals.<\/p>\n
In his managerial career, he has been in charge of the Netherlands national team, Sparta Rotterdam, Barcelona,\u00a0and Galatasaray. He has also coached Asian powerhouse Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
Rijkaard famously won the Champions League and La Liga in the 2005\/06 season with Barcelona. He was also voted UEFA Manager of the Year in that season.<\/p>\n
Since Kiatisuk handed in his resignation a few weeks back, a number of coaches have expressed their desire to fill in the vacancy.<\/p>\n
