Brazilian striker Matheus Pato scored a hat-trick as Borneo FC Samarinda demolished PSIS Semarang 6-1 in Sunday’s Liga 1 Indonesia action.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hosting PSIS at the Segiri Stadium, Borneo went off on a flyer in the 18th minute after a powerful shot from Hendro Siswanto pierced its way into Ady Satryo’s goal.<\/p>\n

Three minutes later, Pato made it 2-0 after he had latched onto a Jonathan Bustos through ball and fired off a well-taken shot that went past Ady.<\/p>\n

Former Daejeon Hana Citizen target man Pato then doubled his tally and tripled Borneo’s in the 30th minute, scoring a fine penalty after a PSIS player was adjudged to have handled the ball within the box.<\/p>\n

Muhammad Sihran then made it 4-0 Borneo to close a pretty one-sided first half with an intelligent finish.<\/p>\n

Borneo were then awarded another penalty three minutes into the second half following a foul within the box by Delvin Rumbino, however Ady superbly denied Pato his third goal of the game. PSIS then caught Borneo off-guard with a blistering counterattack four minutes afterwards, with Rizky Dwi Pangestu getting the better of Angga Saputra in the Borneo goal to reduce the deficit for the\u00a0Mahesa Jenar<\/em>.<\/p>\n

However, the\u00a0Pesut Etam\u00a0<\/em>pulled themselves even further in the 62nd minute after Adam Alis took advantage of a Bustos pass to score Borneo’s fifth of the night.<\/p>\n

Pato’s hat-trick was not to be denied in the 78th minute, with the Brazilian superbly closing Borneo’s rout with an excellent finish into Ady’s goal.<\/p>\n

The three points meant that Borneo are creeping up on both 2nd placed Persib Bandung and 3rd placed Persija Jakarta, who lost 2-0 at Persik Kediri on Sunday. PSIS, on the other hand, remain in 11th place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
