Johor Darul Ta’zim have decided to recall their forward, Syafiq Ahmad, from his loan at fellow Liga Super Malaysia side Kedah Darul Aman. It was hoped that Syafiq’s return would further reinforce the Southern Tigers’ ranks as they prepare to embark themselves in both the domestic front and their first venture into the AFC Champions League knockouts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The announcement regarding Syafiq’s recall was made on Friday, with no specific reason being given whatsoever behind JDT’s decision. Both the Southern Tigers and Kedah have agreed for the former to loan out Syafiq to the latter for the entire season, with the 26-year-old attacker making his return to the Canaries for the first time since departing the club for JDT back in 2017.<\/p>\n

“Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club will recall Syafiq Ahmad from his loan spell at Kedah Darul Aman Football Club,” read an official statement posted by JDT on their social media channels, “The player in question will rejoin his teammates at JDT after the international break.”<\/p>\n

The news would come as a blow to Kedah, who were trying to improve upon their position in the Liga Super table as well as preparing a strong squad for the upcoming 2022 AFC Cup group stage in Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia.
