\u2018El Pistolero\u2019 Luis Suarez is decidedly happy at Atletico Madrid after helping Diego Simeone\u2019s men garner their first La Liga title since 2014, but has not ruled out a return to former club Liverpool in the future, with a caveat.<\/p>\n
Having enjoyed four prolific seasons on Merseyside, scoring 82 goals in 133 appearances and almost succeeding in helping the Reds lift the Premier League title in 2014, the 34-year-old Suarez has revealed why he\u2019s highly unlikely to return to the Premier League to feature for any club, unless his former club Liverpool were to make an approach.<\/p>\n
That 2014 Premier League title near-miss still haunts Suarez, who left the Reds that same summer to form a deadly strike partnership with Lionel Messi at Barcelona, with the pair winning four La Liga titles together.<\/p>\n
Then, after being unceremoniously discarded 12 months ago, the Uruguayan linked up with Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, where his 21 goals in 32 league games helped them win a first Spanish title in seven seasons.<\/p>\n
Although happy with Atletico, the forward disclosed in an interview with World Soccer Magazine that\u00a0he hasn\u2019t totally dismissed the idea of rejoining Liverpool at some point in the future.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlaying for any team other than Liverpool in England would be hard,\u201d Suarez said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had, and hope I still do have, such a good relationship with Liverpool fans that it would be strange for me to play for somebody else.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt would have been special to win the league with Liverpool, but I am glad that their wait is now over.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey look like a team that will compete for many seasons to come even if this one has not been the best for them. They are back where they belong.\u201d<\/p>\n
Suarez has great memories of his time on Merseyside, but for now the veteran striker has no plans to leave his current employers.<\/p>\n
