{"id":26018,"date":"2021-07-07T08:18:42","date_gmt":"2021-07-06T23:18:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/?p=26018"},"modified":"2021-07-07T08:21:17","modified_gmt":"2021-07-06T23:21:17","slug":"luis-suarez-wont-return-to-premier-league-unless-offer-is-from-klopp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/football-tribe.com\/asia\/2021\/07\/07\/luis-suarez-wont-return-to-premier-league-unless-offer-is-from-klopp\/","title":{"rendered":"Luis Suarez won\u2019t return to Premier League \u2013 unless offer is from Klopp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018El Pistolero\u2019 Luis Suarez is decidedly happy at Atletico Madrid after helping Diego Simeone\u2019s men garner their first La Liga title since 2014, but has not ruled out a return to former club Liverpool in the future, with a caveat.<\/p>\n<p>Having enjoyed four prolific seasons on Merseyside, scoring 82 goals in 133 appearances and almost succeeding in helping the Reds lift the Premier League title in 2014, the 34-year-old Suarez has revealed why he\u2019s highly unlikely to return to the Premier League to feature for any club, unless his former club Liverpool were to make an approach.<\/p>\n<p>That 2014 Premier League title near-miss still haunts Suarez, who left the Reds that same summer to form a deadly strike partnership with Lionel Messi at Barcelona, with the pair winning four La Liga titles together.<\/p>\n<p>Then, after being unceremoniously discarded 12 months ago, the Uruguayan linked up with Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid, where his 21 goals in 32 league games helped them win a first Spanish title in seven seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Although happy with Atletico, the forward disclosed in an interview with World Soccer Magazine that\u00a0he hasn\u2019t totally dismissed the idea of rejoining Liverpool at some point in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying for any team other than Liverpool in England would be hard,\u201d Suarez said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had, and hope I still do have, such a good relationship with Liverpool fans that it would be strange for me to play for somebody else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would have been special to win the league with Liverpool, but I am glad that their wait is now over.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey look like a team that will compete for many seasons to come even if this one has not been the best for them.
