Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said he is certain the Glazers are fully committed to \u201cmoving the club in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n
The fallout from the disastrously botched European Super League this week has seen executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward taking the fall officially for Old Trafford\u2019s complicity in the new rival league, leading to his resignation from the club and renewed calls from irate fans for the Glazer family to relinquish their ownership of the club.<\/p>\n
Solskjaer said he is \u201chappy\u201d United have pulled out of the European Super League but refused to turn his frustrations onto the owners at his weekly news conference on Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so happy all the owners said this was a mistake,\u201d Solskjaer said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always had a good working relationship with the owners. They listen to my opinions and we are working to move Man United forward. It\u2019s important we all want to be better and improve and that\u2019s where my job is to improve the performance of the team.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was altogether a turbulent week at United that also saw a group of supporters turning up at the club\u2019s Carrington training base to voice their concerns to Solskjaer, Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher and Nemanja Matic.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will always listen to the fans and it was the only right thing to do to listen to them and speak to them,\u201d Solskjaer said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a peaceful discussion. It\u2019s important we respect each other and each other\u2019s views. I said about what I think the team will do in the future and it was a good 10 minutes and I was happy. We didn\u2019t shake hands, gave a fist bump and then we parted.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very happy the fans have voiced their opinion and that we\u2019ve listened to them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn a strange sort of way it\u2019s brought the football pyramid and community together and I think that\u2019s important and I\u2019m very happy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a supporter myself, and there\u2019ll be a day when I come back and watch Man United and I want to watch a Man United team with a fear of failure.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t like the concept anyway, it has to be on sporting merit, I want to earn the right to play in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n
