Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been a constant target heavily linked with some of the world\u2019s biggest clubs, not least of which being Spanish champions Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
Real Madrid\u2019s former president Ramon Calderon has spoken in backing up former Reds legend Jamie Carragher\u2019s assertion that Harry Kane may have \u201cmissed the boat\u201d on a mega-money switch to the Los Blancos as the in-form Spurs talisman has three years remaining on his current deal but has shown hardly any signs of forcing a move. Which has still done little to stop speculation linking the England captain with a huge transfer out.<\/p>\n
Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with the England skipper, particularly in the midst of Spurs\u2019 rocky campaign so far this season under Jose Mourinho, with Kane being left helpless as his side were recently dumped out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb.<\/p>\n
This means a desperate Mourinho side now facing a tough battle to secure a place in Champions League football \u2013 a competition Kane longs eagerly to play in.<\/p>\n
Now aged 27, Sky Sports pundit Carragher recently expressed the concern that clubs would be unwilling to part with the kind of cash for Kane that would be required to even open negotiations with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think he\u2019ll (Salah) be there (at Liverpool) for the next few years. I think he\u2019s in a similar position to Harry Kane,\u201d said the Reds legend on his former teammate Robbie Fowler\u2019s podcat.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re possibly the two best goal scorers in the Premier League right now.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re at an age where no-one is going to pay big money for them.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think they\u2019ve probably missed the boat if they ever did want to go; whether that is to a Real Madrid or a Barcelona. Whether it\u2019s Harry Kane going to Man Utd or Man City.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor both of those players, I think you\u2019re talking \u00a3120m plus, maybe more, and I just don\u2019t think anyone will spend that much on players of that age now.\u201d<\/p>\n
And now Calderon, owner of Real Madrid until 2009, has hinted that Los Blancos will be unable to be in the market for big-ticket transfers, focusing instead on regenerating the Bernabeu to increase revenue streams.<\/p>\n
He told talkSPORT:<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are always rumours at this time of the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey are talking about Mbappe, Haaland\u2026 too many players.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not in the best form economically-speaking because we are refurbishing our stadium spending a lot of money.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be difficult to spend money in the summer. We always try to sign good players, we\u2019ve been doing that for years.\u201d<\/p>\n
