But it is not a given that Suarez, 34, may continue his stay with Atletico and if Salah leaves the Reds in a big-money move, the Reds could welcome their former forward back, according to Spanish website Fichajes.

Although Suarez is entering the twilight of his career, there’s no doubting the scintillating form he has produced consistently this season after having been spurned at Barcelona, inspiring him to score 19 goals in 25 games with Atletico leading the title race.

Messi’s former strike-mate was talismanic in his performances at Liverpool after joining from Ajax in 2011, netting 82 times in 133 appearances but his age and wage demands seem unlikely to fit the FSG model of signings.

Nonetheless, if Salah leaves, Liverpool would definitely have a massive void to fill as the hot Egyptian winger has been linked with a move away and even gave an interview with AS earlier in the campaign, saying he would be open to playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future.

European giants Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be interested although Liverpool would not be asking for a pittance to sell their talismanic striker.

Despite Jurgen Klopp’s side eating humble pie this season, Salah has been outstanding and leads the race for the Premier League Golden Boot alongside Harry Kane on 17 goals.

There is no indication that Liverpool want to let Salah leave but failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League could make it harder to hold on to their most dangerous player.

Credit: Football Tribe Malaysia

Hold your breath, you Liverpool fans, as a sensational Anfield return for Luis Suarez could reportedly be on the cards if Mo Salah leaves this summer.
