Tottenham star Heung-Min Son has dismissed suggestions that boss Jose Mourinho has lost the Tottenham dressing room.<\/p>\n
Spurs have slumped to four defeats in their last five League matches as well as exiting the FA Cup but managed to pull back a convincing victory over Wolfsberger.<\/p>\n
Asked directly about rumours that the Portuguese has lost the squad\u2019s confidence, Son said: \u201cThe rumours are just rumours. Our changing room has been fantastic.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously it depends on the results, I\u2019m very sad if we lose and happy when we win. It\u2019s like everyone else.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mood went down when we had a couple of bad results but the dressing room hasn\u2019t changed. Everyone is happy and having a laugh and focused on every game. It is a bad rumour.\u201d<\/p>\n
Of Son\u2019s 13 League goals this season, six have been assisted by Harry Kane and the South Korean says his relationship with the England captain is \u201cvery special\u201d and still improving.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got more chances than the previous season as Harry and Tanguy [Ndombele] are dropping deep and I have more space to attack,\u201d Son explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone knows I like to run into space and the passing is very good to me. That is why I\u2019ve scored more than the previous season.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not only about Harry. We speak so much about Harry and what he is \u2013 he is just so good, so good. His passing is just as good as his scoring. When he has the ball, I know where to run.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been working for six years and we know what each other likes. The relationship has been very special, especially this season, we have been working so hard to be better. We want to be better and better every day which is why the relationship is very special.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mourinho says Son has suffered from the amount of football he has played recently but described his contributions this season as \u201cremarkable\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201c[He played] 120 minutes against Everton and 90 against [Manchester] City, he ran more than 28km,\u201d Mourinho said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople that never played football maybe can say that\u2019s roughly half of a marathon. So if the marathon guys can run double, why shouldn\u2019t they? But football is not athletics. Football is very, very hard. The intensity, the change of intensity, the high intensity, the sprinting is absolutely incredible, what Sonny and other guys did.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it\u2019s not a surprise for me that he pays the price of it a little bit. That\u2019s the reality of things.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut so happy with what he does for the team, so happy with his contribution. And he\u2019s in the mix with the stats with the other guys who play as strikers. So that makes him even more remarkable.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mourinho has said Son wants to sign a new long-term contract to keep him at Spurs for life but the 28-year-old said it was \u201cunfair\u201d to talk about his future.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a bit unfair to talk about a new contract at the moment, I am focused on the games and my team and that is the most important thing at the moment,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m happy to be here and I\u2019m working hard as a player and the team. It\u2019s a bit unfair to talk about a new contract.\u201d<\/p>\n
