Syria-born midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud is set\u00a0to join Borussia Dortmund this summer, his current club\u00a0Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach confirmed today.<\/p>\n
A club statement read: “Mahmoud Dahoud will leave Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach this summer, with the 21-year-old completing a transfer to fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, one year ahead of his contract end date.”<\/p>\n
Dahoud has been linked with a number of clubs in recent years with Jurgen Klopp a known admirer of the German Under-21 international.<\/p>\n
But the Syrian-born midfielder\u00a0will instead link up with Klopp’s former club, Dortmund and become the latest young European star to join the ranks at the Westfalenstadion.<\/p>\n
Both clubs agreed not to disclose details of the fee although suggestions are\u00a0Dortmund are\u00a0paying around\u00a0\u00a310.3 million\u00a0for the 21-year-old.<\/p>\n
Syrian-born Dahoud joined M\u00f6nchengladbach in 2014, making 52 appearances and scoring 6 goals. He has represented Germany at U-18, U-19 and U-21 level, playing 10 times in total. The midfielder is also eligible to play for Syria national team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
