Thailand international and Shimizu S-Pulse striker Teerasil Dangda is closing on a move to Thai League<\/a> leaders BG Pathum United (BGPU) with a fee worth 24 million baht.<\/h2>\n

According to Siamsport, The Rabbits<\/em><\/a> management have reached an agreement with Shimizu S-Pulse for Teerasil to join in the second-leg of the Thai League season with a contract lasting 3 and a half years.<\/p>\n

A Muangthong United legend, Teerasil left The Kirins\u00a0<\/em>for Shimizu S-Pulse on a permanent deal at the start of the 2020 season. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has delayed domestic football across Asia and with Teerasil contract ending at the beginning of 2021, Shimizu S-Pulse is now willing to sell Teerasil rather than risk losing the 32 years old<\/a> as a free agent.<\/p>\n

The 2012 Thai League golden boots winner has experience playing abroad with Manchester City and Grasshoppers Zurich’s reserves and later in the first team with La Liga’s Almeria FC, J1 League<\/a>‘s Sanfrecce Hiroshima and recently Shimizu S-Pulse. Teerasil led Muangthong United to 4 league titles and 4 domestic cups between 2007 and 2020. A winner of the 2016 AFF Championship, Teerasil also took home the golden boots award on 3 separate occasions.<\/p>\n

BGPU currently lead the Thai League table with 22 points from 8 matches, 5 points ahead of their nearest follower, and is the only undefeated club in the top flight at the moment. Despite having the league’s best goal difference (+10), BGPU has issue scoring from open play and currently relied on set pieces, penalties and their ability to keep clean-sheets.<\/p>\n
