Manchester United forward Paul Pogba has been told to \u2018shut up\u2019 after reiterating publicly, and not in a coy way, his puppy love desire to play for Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
The United star seemed to be revisiting his on-off affair with Real Madrid and shamelessly reopened his public courting of the Bernabeu club this week, admitting it would be a \u2018dream\u2019 to play there under coach Zinedine Zidane.<\/p>\n
The France national has under a year remaining on his Old Trafford deal and has been consistently linked with a move to the Spanish giants for over two years now.<\/p>\n
ESPN pundit Jan Age Fjortoft remonstrated the forward and told him instead to \u2018do something on the pitch\u2019 as he reopened his flirting with Los Blancos.<\/p>\n
Former Liverpool right-back Steve Nicol echoed the Norwegian\u2019s comments, adding:<\/p>\n
\u2018Just because someone asked you a question, you don\u2019t have to answer it.<\/p>\n
\u2018If you do answer it, all you have to say is: \u201cI\u2019m happy at Manchester United, that\u2019s the only thing I\u2019m thinking about,\u201d and that\u2019s the end of the story.<\/p>\n
\u2018I think it tells you more about Paul Pogba. I\u2019ve actually been sticking up for him for a long time \u2013 probably the first two years of his time at Manchester United.<\/p>\n
\u2018But it\u2019s really clear, this guy has absolutely zero leadership in him, and you can tell.\u2019<\/p>\n
Pogba has been far from his best for the past 12 months and has made a quiet start to the new season, despite being a regular when fit under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.<\/p>\n
suffered a series of injury problems in the first-half of the 2019-20 season before returning during Project Restart.<\/p>\n
But a return of two goals in 26 games in the past year has not stopped him from talking openly about a move to Zidane\u2019s LaLiga champions again.<\/p>\n
He said this week: \u2018Yes, all football players would love to play for Real Madrid. It is a dream for me, why not one day?<\/p>\n
\u2018I am in Manchester and I love my club. I am playing in Manchester, I\u2019m having fun and I want to do everything to put the club where it deserves it. I will give everything to the max, like my team-mates.\u2019<\/p>\n
Pogba also admitted he was unsure about his United future, with just 10 months remaining on his deal: \u2018No-one has told me anything. I have not spoken to Ed Woodward. We haven\u2019t spoken about a new deal.<\/p>\n
\u2018At the moment, I am in Manchester and I am concentrating about getting back to my best form.<\/p>\n
\u2018I think there will be a moment when the club will come and talk to me and maybe offer me something, or not.<\/p>\n
\u2018So far, nothing has happened. I can\u2019t tell you something that I don\u2019t know.\u2019<\/p>\n
