Former Jeonnam Dragons coach, Kim Nam-il has put pen to paper as the new manager of Seongnam FC on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Once called the \u2018vacuum cleaner\u2019 during his playing time, Kim played a crucial role in the Republic of Korea\u2019s unbelievable performance in the 2002 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n

Having capped 98 games for the Korean national team, the 42-year-old manager has participated in three World Cups from 2002 to 2010.<\/p>\n

Upon his retirement, the former-midfielder joined the Chinese Super League side, Jiangsu Suning F.C. to take the first step into his coaching career. As a former international with vast experiences, he was also called up to the Korean national team ahead of the 2018 World Cup.<\/p>\n

This would be the first time the ex-Jeonnam Dragons coach will be appointed as the manager in his career.<\/p>\n

On meeting the media, he shared \u201cI know fans are disappointed by the replacement of the previous manager. I am also aware of the huge pressure for this role but I will do my best to bring the best result with responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease do give huge support for the players who must have gone through hard times. I will also do my best to gain your support.\u201d<\/p>\n
