After an initially slow start, Theerathon found his form in the latter half of the season and help his club Yokohama F. Marinos to the J1 League title following a run of 11 unbeaten league games. three goals and four assists earned Theerathon a place in the 33-man J1 League Team of the Year shortlist, but the 29-year-old eventually missed out on the final XI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the Aksra Theatre, Theerathon said: “first, a big thank you to the Thai FA for this award and to Muangthong United for handing me the chance to return to the J League.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Thank you Yokohama F Marinos for this opportunity. Thank you, boss, Ange Postecoglou, and all the staffs and teammate that fought together for this trophy”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Thank you to the Thai fans for always being there for me. I’d like to thank my family, my wife, my son, for their support through all the ups and downs. Thank you for standing beside me.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Theerathon joined the Marinos from Muangthong United on a 1-year loan deal, which has now expired. However, he has expressed his determination to continue his trade in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Even though I have already got my hands on a piece of silverware, I still want to play in Japan. It’s difficult, but next year I have my eyes of the league or a domestic cup title. I am not complacent and won’t stop improving my game.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s an honor to represent [Marinos]. I’ve learnt so much there, whether it’s the style of play or how to look after my body.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Yokohama coach Ange Postecoglou has praised Theerathon’s football quality and attitude and is open to recruiting the five-time Thai League champion on a permanent deal.
