2019 Ballon d’Or nominee, Son Heung-min has topped Cha Bum-kun to be the most scoring Korean player in Europe.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Tottenham Hotspurs visited FK Crvena Zvezda for their fourth UEFA Champions League Group B match. The game ended as a huge victory (0-4) for the visitors, while the 27-year-old Korean fired two past the goal.<\/p>\n

The two goals scored by Son marked him as the \u2018most scoring Korean player in Europe\u2019 as he broke his senior legend, Cha Bum-kun\u2019s 121 goals.<\/p>\n

Cha spoke to media on Son breaking the record: \u201cCongratulations to Son. I believe he should now be the rudder for the juniors to follow. I was so thankful to have my name mentioned on media every time he scored. However, it is time for me to leave way for the juniors and Son should take that role instead of me. I think he will set the right guidance for the youngsters.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Korean national team captain may have missed yesterday\u2019s game due to psychological issues. Son was in shock after his tackle against Andr\u00e9 Gomes broke the victim\u2019s ankle during the 11th round of Premier League fixture against Everton FC.<\/p>\n

However, Son overcame the trauma and showed a gesture of apology to Andr\u00e9 Gomes after he scored his first goal instead of an outrageous celebration with his teammates.<\/p>\n
