Argentina U-20 team’s head coach,\u00a0Claudio Ubeda, confirms that his team will be in Hanoi (Vietnam) for friendly matches this coming May.<\/p>\n
In a statement released yesterday, Ubeda said:<\/p>\n
“We have already\u00a0finalized the preparation for U-20 World Cup. We will play two friendly matches against Uruguay U-20 and two against Vietnam U-20 and Vietnam U-23.”<\/p>\n
Argentina U-20 picked Vietnam as their destination so that the squad can get used to the climate before moving to South Korea for 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will take place from May 20 to June 11.<\/p>\n
The draws for the tournament will be made today (March 15) in Suwon where the final will be played.<\/p>\n
24 nations that include record six-time champions Argentina and Portugal, the tournament\u2019s second most successful side with two honors, will go into the draws.<\/p>\n
Pot 1 will\u00a0have Portugal, 1998 champions Germany, 2013 winners France, USA, Uruguay and host South Korea.<\/p>\n
Argentina\u00a0is\u00a0in Pot 2 together with New Zealand, Costa Rica, Mexico, Japan and 2017 U20 AFCON losing finalists Senegal.<\/p>\n
Pot 3 includes Italy, England, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Honduras, and Zambia.<\/p>\n
Vietnam is in Pot 4, alongside with\u00a0Vanuatu, Iran, Ecuador, South Africa, and Guinea.<\/p>\n
Former champions Diego Maradona, who triumphed in 1979, and fellow Argentine Pablo Aimar will be entrusted with plucking the draw balls from the pots and arranging the protagonists for the tournament ahead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
