The heat of the competition is already increasing after the break ended as we enter Week 18. The Padjajaran Derby between PS TIRA-Persikabo against Persib Bandung ended in a draw, but there were bad stories repeated again and again, giving a negative image for Indonesian football.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the field last Saturday, both clubs played with a fierce spirit as the host in the Pakansari stadium, Bogor, need to close the gap between them and Bali United as the league leader. They took the lead in the 14<\/span>th<\/span> minute as Achmad Jufriyanto was caught doing a handball in a penalty box attempting to deal with a low cross from the right side sent by Ciro Alves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Osas Saha, the Nigerian-born naturalized-striker, successfully conquered I Made Wirawan and slotted the ball through <\/span>Maung Bandung<\/span><\/i>\u2019s net. Three minutes later <\/span>Laskar Padjajran<\/span><\/i> also got another chance from Wawan Febriyanto\u2019s free-kick that missed the net.<\/span><\/p>\n

After 20 minutes full of defending, Persib looked hard for an equalizer without their main striker, Ezechiel N\u2019Douassel. Five last minutes before the first half ended, Persib\u2019s luck’s improved as Omid Nazari\u2019s free kick in 41<\/span>st<\/span> minutes managed to hit the bar. Four minutes later Nick Kuipers\u2019 header, assisted by Dedi Kusnandar’s long free-kick, finally gave them the equalizer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the second half, both of them did not slow down the tempo and continued to threaten each other, but the score did not change until the full time whistle. But the joy for both sides as the points were shared soon became a terror, especially for the away team after the game ended.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was chaos between two supporters during the game and after the match that comes from the south side of the tribune, and the away team was stuck for one hour before they can leave the stadium. Unluckily for them, as they nearly left Bogor through the highway, their bus hit by stones by supporters that broke the window and injured two players; Philippines midfielder Omid Nazari and Febri Hariyadi. Persib’s management have already sent a protest letter to PSSI as the federation, the league operator and the host of last Saturday game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Julio Banuelos\u2019 Future Is Safe For A While<\/b><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Persib\u2019s eternal rival Persija Jakarta faced a tough situation as they met PSIS Semarang, who recently broke PSM Makassar’s home record for the first time this season last Wednesday. The match was a meaningful one for Julio Banuelos as <\/span>Macan Kemayoran<\/span><\/i> still can\u2019t move from the relegation zone even until the Spanish mastermind come.<\/span><\/p>\n

Formerly a member of Leeds United’s coaching staff, Banuelos’ future was made a little bit brighter after yesterday as Persija were able to win 2-1 against <\/span>Laskar Mahesa Jenar<\/span><\/i>. Playing in front a thousand Jakmania supporters, who were protesting the side’s poor results at the Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Persija took the lead in first-half injury time through Marco Simic\u2019s penalty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their second goal was scored in the 53<\/span>rd<\/span> minute when Nepali midfielder, Rohit Chand, took advantage from scrimmage in front of Jandia Eka Putra\u2019s goal. However, PSIS can close the gap ten minute after through Septian David Maulana\u2019s goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Lampung, hosts Perseru Badak drew against PSM Makassar close this week. Amido Balde helped the away team take the lead in the 36<\/span>th<\/span> minute, but Laskar Saburai equalized in the second half after PSM played with ten players since the end of the first half after Zulham Zamrun got a straight red card from the referee.<\/span><\/p>\n
